Alpha Conference

The Alpha conference held in Lima last weekend was a great gathering of over 700 delegates from different denominations and from different Latin American countries. Sessions and seminars helped people to understand the basics of the Alpha course and how they could organise and lead a course in their own church and community situation. I was on the ministry team and had the opportunity to pray with several people during the conference and also help in the training of small group models.

I took 6 young people from Jesus El Nazareno church and each of them were impacted by the meetings and the teaching.

Sunday Baptisms and Anniversary celebration

In a full and overflowing church last night we celebrated the church anniversary and 8 baptisms. It was rather a squashed and damp, but thoroughly enjoyable time together, and following the service we continued with the celebrations in sharing snacks and a cake together with more music and activities.

I was Godmother to Sixto, a young man from the music group, and then went on to baptised the 7 remaining people, two adults and 5 children. Father John Park, Dean from the Good Shepherd Cathedral, accompanied us and celebrated the communion, his wife Susan also visiting. Melany, Etelvina's daughter, celebrated her first communion. I was able to read two messages, one from the Bishop and another from the Bishop's wife, congratulating us on the anniversary and informing us of the Bishop's progress, still slow with further problems of infection.

here are some photos of the evening:
