New Location

I have moved flats to live with my Peruvian friend Karelia who lived with me for 2 years and who recently bought a new flat a short distance from where we used to live. I have 'down sized' considerably and am still trying to acclimatised and find things. I am on the 4th floor and have a clear view to the hills of the shanty town in Pamplona where I work and a shorter walk to the bus stop!

Elections 2011 - Peruvian President

We are in the middle of presidental and congress elections with voting on Sunday 10th April. The streets are full of bill boards with smiling faces, campaign logos and numbers. We have 11 potential presidential candidates with 5 jostling for position and over 100 candidates for congress.

Please pray for Peru at this time, for wisdom for all those who will be voting and those who will be elected.

Medical Campaign

Last week we were blessed to receive a team of 30 health professionals from Medical Ministry International (MMI) to run clinics in 3 of our Anglican parishes in the north of Lima. There were various specialities medicine, dental, opticians and physical therapy. Not sure how many people were seen but it was a time of action in the community and the opportunity to share with many in their health problems and encourage them with the gospel.

New teenage group

We are now a month into the new teenagers group in Jesus El Nazareno Church. There is a committed group of 6 - 7 youth who have taken on this ministry. We meet each Wednesday to study, plan and pray together. Last week we went to a youth encounter with other groups from the Diocese. and we have had increasing numbers each week starting with 12 and then 23 went on Saturday. Praise God.
