Cross Project

No we are not all seeing how angry we can get!

The young people in Shalom are painting crosses in afternoon workshop sessions to raise funds for themselves and the project. I got the crosses cut in the centre of Lima and we are trying out different designs. We are also painting other items made from the same compacted wooden material, napkin holders and boxes.
"Having the heart of Mary in a Martha's world"

This was the title of the weekend women's retreat for 100 women from the different anglilcan churches in Arequipa and Lima held just out side Lima. We were joined by a group of 12 of our sisters from Christchurch, Plano, Texas who helped in the reflections, testimonies and organisation. It was a valuable experience to have that 'Mary time' and try and gain insight and teaching on doing all we have to do as women with busy lives, and demanding family and work responsibilities as well as focusing on God and assuring that we are close to Him and practice his presence at all times - especially when we have too much to do!

The women from Shalom and Nazareno travelled together in a hired bus which made things easier in getting there together and not having to change buses.

here are a few photos of the weekend.

Please pray that as all the women go back to their situations they will remember how to be with God and rely on him to be their strength and guidance in all their experiences and tasks however routine they may be.
