Shalom meeting - two in one!

Saturday 10th saw the meeting for the children with special needs and their parents and siblings. This time we had a very interesting programme. Mavis Crispin, SAMS UK, came with toys and games for the children, specially selected for their disabilities and once the children were captivated in their activities I took the mothers off to do candle making. I'm not sure which group enjoyed themselves most!

It was a very sucessful afternoon and one which we shall repeat next month to do more candle making as the mothers are keen to make and sell to raise some extra income.

Medical campaign

On Thursday 8th June the medical team installed a mobile clinic in Las Rosales in the Chancheria. It was a surprisingly hot day, and even hotter after putting up all the tents, locating the clinic instalations and fetching more chairs from neighbours.
It was a busy day and we attended 109 patients, 82 in medicine and 27 dental. As usual the patients and others accompanying them received health talks and bible teaching whilst waiting for their medicines. The children listened to stories, coloured bible scenes and learnt how to brush their teeth.

This one little girl was very keen to be weighed and then didn't want to get off the scales!

Later I caught her washing her hands and splashing water on her face due to the heat.
