Holiday time!

My sister Christine came to visit during January so it was good to get a chance to travel and go north and into the mountains as well as be around Lima and see what was going on at Nazareno church.

Bumped into a old friend!

Went up the top of a hill to see Lima

went to the desert to see some ruins of the coastal civilisations

Good bye to Tiggy

Sadly my cat Tiggy died over Christmas, thankfully he was only ill for a short while with a urinary infection. I miss him and his hair all over the place but he was a good companion. David and I took him up to Nazareno to be buried in the garden as that is where he came from.

Ordinations

On returning from Ica it was all go again with ordinations in The Good Shepherd Cathedral on the Sunday.

Anderson Sanchez (left) and Ruben Mancilla (right) were ordained deacons and Benjamin Salis (centre) ordained to the priesthood. Bishop William Godfrey was in attendance but looking very tired and frail following his recent ill health. But it was a wonderful celebration with many from the different churches joininh together in this great Diocesan event.

Party in Ica

During the weekend of 14 - 15th December a group from Lima joined the Diocesan team in Ica to organise a Christmas party and gift distribution for over 1000 children. The Diocese has set up 8 feeding locations and is involved in church planting and mission work following the earthquake in August. I was part of the planning team and had been busy organising lists, purchasing presents in the central market in Lima, a hairy job!, and on arrival in Ica getting everything organised for the gran event on Saturday 15th when a bus load of volunteers from the Lima churches joined the team to present a show and work with the children.

Please continue to pray for the work in Ica especialy the pastoral and church planting. The youth camp in February will be held in Ica to help strengthen the groups there and forge links with Lima.
