Easter Activities:

Good Friday Walk
It began more like a Sunday school outing on Good Friday as we gathered at Nazareno church to head off for our walk down to the Shalom centre. Then several adults and young people joined us and we set off with the cross pausing to read from Matthew's Gospel and pray together.

After walking 13 blocks we reached the Shalom centre where several families were waiting. We stood in the street and finished our readings and continued to sing together.

We shared the peace, greeting those we didn't know and the children from Nazareno gave out crosses they had decorated.

We then had a break with drinks and more singing before heading off around the block together before those from Nazareno headed back up the hill. We were over 60 in total and

I give thanks to God for the ministry in both Nazareno and Shalom and pray that there will be more opportunities to share together.

Baptism

On Saturday evening Jessica was baptized, the 1 year old sister of a special needs youth from Shalom. The family regulary attend church and it is great to see the fruit of this ministry.

Easter Day
On Easter Sunday also it was a Shalom moment when two families from the Shalom mission gathered with those 'early birds' from Nazareno to celebrate the resurrection and also the first comunion of Bryan and Frank. We then shared breakfast together and then Diana and I had Sunday school - It had been a busy morning!
